Framework document: Energetic Security in China and his expansion to Central Asia and Myanmar

Energy has become a key element in international relations, since, despite scarcity, it is essential for the internal functioning of a country, as it is the case of China. The Asian power is a major energy consumer, whose internal energy production cannot satisfy the demand, thus increasing China’s dependency on energy exporters. Higher levels of insecurity in certain energy-producer areas and in some of its transport maritime routes have provoked China’s energy supply diversification. The country’s presence in Central Asia and Myanmar is highly remarkable, having –and will certainly have- an impact on the energy security scenario at a global level.
