Opinion document: Voluntary Reserve in Spain

In almost all NATO member countries, including Spain, there is a Voluntary Reserve composed of staff imbued with his love for Spain and its Armed Forces are ready to leave work and family to perform their activation periods. However, in situations of economic crisis one of the first casualties is the Defense Budget and within this budget shortages, among worst hit are the Volunteer Reservists, who even suffer financial losses during activation time but, nevertheless, seek and crave when it is allowed to develop their vocation, even for a short period of time. The lack of activations has caused demotivation and discouragement among many, the object of this paper is to propose some solutions to these problems.
