The first centenary of the beginning of the slaughter of the Armenians with important consequences for the South Caucasus security.- Francisco J. Ruiz González

On April the 24th of 2015, the first centenary of the beginning of the slaughter of the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire during World War I is commemorated, officially considered as a genocide by Armenia and other countries but that Turkey, while acknowledging the suffering of the victims, calls “the 1915 events” and justifies them by the historical logic of the moment. The truth is that one hundred years later resentment still presides the relations between the two countries, with important consequences for the South Caucasus security.
