Border walls in America.- Luis Fernando Furlan

Since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the construction of different types of physical obstacles on the international borders, like walls, fences, barriers, etc., is a phenomenon that characterizes the post-Cold War era and the globalization, which has received a special boost as from the terrorist attacks on September, 11, 2001, in the USA.

The American continent is aware of that tendency, and some countries have decided to reinforce the protection of their external borders with those artificial physical obstacles, as a resource to prevent or contain different problems or complex situations.
