Daesh: evaluation of their objectives and possible lines of action.- Casimiro Sanjuán Martínez

The appearance of Daesh and proclamation as Caliph of its leader, Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, shook the foundations of a battered by violence and war zone. The bloody images disseminated through the media and the ease to carry out attacks anywhere in the world have created a terrible feeling of insecurity among the population. The threat is real and reaches the entire world.

The Daesh expanded dramatically by taking advantage of the chaotic situation in Syria and Iraq and its potential enemies did not grant them the necessary importance. They controlled in a short period of time large areas of land with little opposition. However, a series of attacks in the heart of Europe, the shooting down of a Russian airliner and the constant threats against the infidels, no matter where, has focused the world attention on this dangerous enemy.

Actions against Daesh have already been launched. For months they are being attacked by air and by land. They have lost part of their territory and, despite the total defeat is a question of time, the situation is still far from returning to the beginning. To achieve its eradication is deemed necessary, among other things, to know their true objectives and their possible courses of action.
