North Korea conducted its first nuclear explosion on October 9, 2006. Since then its nuclear capability has only evolved, despite a sanctions policy by both the US and the UN, with missiles and nuclear programs. Being the most critical the second one, a nuclear warhead is useless whether no launch vector allows it to be detonated where intended.
North Korean regime makes it quite difficult to know exactly the status of their programs, obtaining information of visits by international inspectors to nuclear facilities, as well as analysis of satellite images and tests done.
This document analyses the current state of the North Korean nuclear program, including its elements, as well as the policy carried out by the regime. An analysis of possible technical and scientific advances that have overcome the problems of a nuclear weapons development is also made, including the possibility that enough technology to develop thermonuclear warheads may be now available.
