Both the recent election of Antonio Guterres as the new Secretary General (SG) of the United Nations (UN) and recent developments in Washington highlight the long awaited need for reform in the Organisation. Undoubtedly, this will be a task that the new SG will need to address in light of the progress that has been made in recent years.
