Somalia after the massacre.- Jesús Díez Alcalde

Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, has suffered the most horrifying terrorist attack in its history. While the massacre is still taking stock, it is timely to conduct a more moderate analysis of the situation in the country: the progress achieved, the enormous challenges ahead, and –mainly– the real threat that the jihadist group Al Shabaab still poses. Now, we must wait until the thick fog this despicable attack has left is dispelled to prepare responses that put an end to decades of chaos, violence, humanitarian emergency and misgovernment in Somalia.
