Are nuclear weapons obsolete? .- Carlos Javier Frías Sánchez

We live in a nuclear world, even if the States not having these weapons have a certain tendency to overlook this fact. The possession of nuclear weapons is a key factor to be considered when analyzing the relationships between different States, and marks decisively the evolution and outcome of any conflict involving one or more nuclear States. The nuclear posture adopted by each one of the States possessing nuclear weapons give some hints on the real possibilities of use of these weapons. The growing attrition of the non-proliferation regime and the fading away of the memories of the Cold War about the risk of a nuclear war by the public opinion, increase the risk of a nuclear conflict.
