The Great Lakes Region. The heart of Africa at the Crossroads (DIEEEA37-2012)

Sub-Saharan Africa has always occupied a preeminent place in the Spanish strategic thinking. In addition, its richness in natural resources and growth expectations has focused the eyes of all the emerging economic powers. However, the fragility of its institutions and the regional conflicts place it at the heart of a geopolitical crossroads. Organizations such as the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region, is a commitment to safety and sustainable development of the area to be supported from all instances.
