Are we facing the fifth wave of international terrorism? (DIEEEA02-2016)

After the death of Bin Laden a clear decline of Al Qaeda and the emergence of a form of terrorism that reminds us, by its violence, the worst moment of the decade of the nineties is perceived. This new form of terrorism and the ineffective response of Western countries before it, could be indicative of deeper change, the start of a new wave. Using the proposed cyclical analysis of terrorist violence in waves provided by Rappaport, an analysis of the pros and cons of this assertion study is conducted following Kaplan criteria, to conclude that while not pure, we would be before a -new wave-, a generational change in international terrorism.
