The disenchantment of thought in the West, risk of fragmentation (DIEEEA69-2017)

The individual as the creator of his identity is a central tendency in the West during this first half of the 21st century. Skepticism, individualism and diversity are inscribed in our culture that, without complexes, manifests itself as narcissistic, hedonistic and vindictive. The Western society during the next decades will live on diffuse ethical resources that will be unable to reinforce. The transcendental ecology of values ​​in which the community is rooted, solidarity, trust, justice and participatory democracy are defenseless against the utopian proposals of the predominant culture, which without pretending it is undermining their own and indispensable moral prerequisites. When on a ship, in the middle of a storm, everyone shouts first, navigation becomes complicated.
