CBRN proliferation´s future: The black swan´s shadow (DIEEEA10-2018)

Proliferation on Weapons of Mass Destruction´s (WMD) is a worrying issue in a medium-to long-term future. States´ uncertain situation in the new global system, coupled with new technologies´ arrival, can lead to these actors to look for their security from the viewpoint these weapons could offer them, mainly nuclear ones. Other non-State actors could see in WMD an opportunity to obtain security, economical income, power projection or carry out terrorist attacks. Regarding these possibilities, a prospective approach should be applied through anticipation and proactivity, to avoid non-desired events from a proliferation viewpoint scenario. Because WMD can include a great deal of future new possibilities, this essay is only based on CBRN weapons.
