The question of the Sinai Peninsula (DIEEEO128-2014)

The question of the Sinai Peninsula seems marginal at current geopolitical studies on the Middle East. But it is a strategic location midway Maghreb and Mashreq and "watching" the Suez Canal. Despite its small original population (a few hundreds of thousands) divided into little more than a dozen indigenous tribes. In this study, we present the view that after the medium and long term, it would be a territory more important than it apparently shows for global geopolitics. We believe that peace among the local tribes thru maintained control will contribute to the victory over the "war on jihadism." It also has a great connection of this “Sinai matter” with the so-called "Middle East Conflict" between Israel, Palestine and now in addition to conflicts in vogue in Arabic deserts further east (Syria and Iraq).
