The ExGeneral in the labyrinth: The difficulty of election of a new president in the Lebanon (DIEEEO91-2014)

There are many actors and factors involved in choosing a new president in Lebanon. Something that is not easy. This article aims to briefly review some of them, the most important ones, to understand a little better how this complex political system develops. Some rules based on ethno-religious lines, and their historical foundations, through which the decision-making in the country is divided. However, the foundations of the "Lebanese formula" are firmly entrenched in the sands of the Middle East. The regional situations, and sometimes the international circumstances, have been influential in the development of events in Lebanon, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse.
