Europe, 25 years later (DIEEEO05-2015)

November the 9th, 2014 marks the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. More important is the fact that around the same months we evoke as well the end of the Iron Curtain, the division of Europe, the disappearance of the Soviet Union, the Warsaw Pact, the COMECON, the communist bloc and the end of the Cold War.The last 25 years are a long road in search of freedom, an endless transition that had as a main aim the integration in the euro-Atlantic institutions, an objective that has been reached for about the half of the countries of the region.
The remaining ones –some of the former Yugoslav and soviet republics, plus Albania and Turkey- are still making efforts with an aim that seems to be more and more evasive and often becomes confounded with other projects, if not so solid, maybe easier to be completed.
