Baltic and Euro-Atlantic security link (DIEEEO64-2015)

The current security & defence context in Baltic region shows the important standing of Euroatlantic link. After the membership of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in NATO and EU in year 2004, their integration in both organisations is total and active. The last NATO Wales Summit, celebrated past September 2014, shows the worries inside the Atlantic Alliance due to the increasing conflict originated by the Russian activity confronting Ukraine, which is a destabilization factor in Central-Eastern Europe. 25 years after Lithuania recovered its national independency -signed by March 11th 1990 act- after the triumph of the social movement pro-independence named Sajudis, this nation keeps on launching pioneer initiatives for the sake of the stability in the whole region, as in the Energy Security, cooperation regarding the EU Eastern Partnership and expansion of the Transatlantic link.
