The threat of Boko Haram against Regional Security in West Africa (DIEEEO72-2015)

From the year 2009 the terrorist organization Boko Haram has evolved up to turning into the most bloodthirsty organization of the African continent; from a threat geographically limited to the northwest of Nigeria, it has evolved up to establishing a strategic alliance with DAESH. His actions, which managed to provoke the delay of presidential elections in Nigeria during March, have provoked one regional response who has supposed a turning point in his conquests
Nevertheless, the members of the terrorist organization Boko Haram, far from being able to be considered to be defeated, survive as a persistent threat the regional security. The eventual military victory will not be enough to settle the deep present roots of the conflict in the northwest of Nigeria, without improving the economic and social conditions in the region, the reorganization and survival of the terrorist organization seems to be assured.
