13 Five-Year Plan of China: geopolitical challenges for global governance (DIEEEO96-2016)

The vision and priorities of President Xi Jinping on the economic and social development of the country after assuming the leadership of China are reflected on the 13 Five-Year Plan (2016-2020). This document summarizes the development strategies under the "new normal" era on building the "Chinese dream" of a "moderately prosperous society" by 2020, whereas the authority of the Party remains and begins a fierce fight against corruption. The key words are innovation and reform, and the ambitious objectives apply to the economic, financial, social, environmental and military fields, which are the main axes of the Plan. A significant impact on global governance is expected on their achievement.
