Historical evolution of information management in armed conflicts (DIEEEM18-2017)

The control and treatment of information during wartime conflicts has been one of issues that have preoccupied the most in both political and military circles. The strategic advantage of information control has been evident since the nineteenth century in the Crimean War (1853-1856), where the figure of war correspondent appeared for the first time until today’s armed conflicts.

The purpose of this article is to conduct a historical review of information management in war conflicts, as well as to point out some questions about the emergence of new media outlets and their effect on wars.
