The Republic of China (or Taiwan) Armed Forces have been trained day and night for years to face a the only single war they could face and would never want to, knowing that without direct US support, defeat would be inevitable. What sort of wild cards does Taipei hide under the table to avoid an invasion from the mainland? And what has kept Chinese forces away from it until now other than Washington’s rhetoric and actions?
