Tensions in the South China Sea (DIEEEA33-2012)

Territorial disputes in the South China Sea have increased in recent months between the Philippines and China and between Vietnam and China. In a region considered of crucial importance for world trade, the claims of coastal States, more and more firm, are a cause of concern for regional stability. This IEEE document presents some keys to understand the geopolitical situation in that part of Southeast Asia.
