Territorial disputes of Japan (DIEEEI53-2012)

In recent weeks, it is an increase of tension in which Japan has territorial disputes with China, Taiwan, South Korea and Russia over a series of islands that the country claims as its own. The main reason for the dispute is the high wealth of natural resources, especially energy and fisheries in the waters surrounding the islands and shipping routes of high strategic importance. However, we must not forget that there are also large dose of nationalism.
