Challenges of change for the Spanish energy multinational in Latin America and the Caribbean 2016 (DIEEEM02-2016)

It is expected that the year 2016 is complicated for Spanish multinationals that operate in the energy sector in Latin America and Caribbean region. This year present significant challenges because there are several dynamics of change. So we emphasize an economic recession in the region by the slowdown in the energy sector by the substantial drop in prices of fuel and raw materials. The energy sector is considered responsible of the golden decade of the region and has allowed the largest reduction in poverty indicators in history and this can mean the growth of social conflict in the region. We also found the dynamics of reform in the energy sector which comes from the fight against climate change represented by the COP-21 which was recently adopted in Paris with a strong and active commitment from the states of the Latin America and Caribbean.
