The stereotypes that place women as "victims" and men as "enforcers" of political violence assume a simplistic definition of a universal problem, making both objects and denying his ability as actors in the process. What most often we hear about is about women as victims, rape is a weapon of war affects women more than men... but women have also been active in conflict: Estimates indicate that form between one-third and one-tenth of combat forces; usually they play a larger role in support services (cooks, messengers, etc.) that activates the fight but they also have fighting role. Claim the role of women as fighter goes further, three important commanders FMLN women, assert that they were in the negotiation process not as women but as commanders, that were leading to 10,000 armed men, "the more men you have behind you , the more power you have "
