Syria turns again to chemical weapons (DIEEEO46-2013)

During the last few weeks, the media has been filled with headlines such as: “Chemical weapon Could have been used by the rebels in Syria”, “Chemical weapons in Syria, a new pretext for a military intervention?”, “Turkey has also denounced the use of chemical weapons on Syria” and many more along those lines. The whole process puts the spotlight back, as if it were a dejá vu, on Syria and chemical weapons. It brings back memories of Irak and the possibility of chemical weapon usage. History Seems to have been forgotten and the same questions are made anew: have chemical weapons been used in Syria? Are there chemical weapons in Syria? If affirmative, where are they stored? And, last but not least, if they are there, would they be used? Even if the situation Seems repetitive to several analysts, this work attempts to clear up this complicated, tangled situation.
