Challenges of synthetic biology (DIEEEM35-2015)

In recent years we have witnessed a spectacular advance in biotechnology, along with new scientific disciplines such as synthetic biology seek to achieve, among other things, the goal of the creation of artificial life. The steps that are being taken in this regard may be expected that in a few years the profits lead to new fuel, food, or drugs to a needy world. However, with the democratization of knowledge and techniques simplify also a way to new hazards related to criminal and terrorist use of modified or created in the laboratory biological agents opens. And the emerging dilemma allows or restricts access to knowledge so that it can not make use of it.
