The 40th anniversary of the Paris Convention for the protection of cultural heritage (DIEEEI72-2012)

The threat of partial destruction over the Timbuktu treasures, which have a huge historical and cultural value, perpetrated by Ansar-Din Fundamentalists, as well as the Syrian civil war, are among the most recent facts that recall the concern over the necessity of preserving and defending the humanity heritage. With that purpose, UNESCO has celebrated, last November 16th, the 40th anniversary of the Paris Convention for the protection of cultural heritage.
