Germs resistant and international security (DIEEEO102-2016)

The emergence and development of germs resistant to antibiotic treatments generates a global concern. Because of this concern, for over fifteen years, health authorities and politicians have established strategies and programs to try to deal with this threat. In this sense, One Health Initiative provides a comprehensive approach to combat the development of antimicrobial resistance.

Intelligence analysts are not alien to this concern because of the potential criminal or terrorist use. Although it should be noted that, while there is the threat, risk have to be considered low.
