Jihad, Martyrdom and Evolution of Global Islamic Terrorism (DIEEEO106-2013)

Islamic terrorism and jihad are two terms usually misunderstood. To obtain terrorism awareness it is necessary to understand some principles based on the Islamic religion as jihad, martyrdom and mujahedeen.
The role of demobilized personnel of the Afghanistan conflict-era, radicalized and in their motherland (or host countries), the skillful manipulation of purely religious concepts to political or ideological purposes and the new theaters of operations, such as those which have produced with the Arab Spring are aspects to take into account to understand how and why the Islamic terrorism has evolved and what are the challenges that society faces today.
