Opinion document: North Korea: Changes in power, same behavior. Relations with the new Chinese leadership

The present document analyzes the sources of legitimacy of the leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un, the changes in the North Korean ruling elite after Kim Jong-il’s death, the validity of the traditional DPRK’s scheme of behavior and, finally, the relations of the communist regime with the new Chinese leadership.
