A look at using fMRI lie detection.- José M. Petisco Rodríguez

After the terrorist attacks of 11-S, in the USA there was a change in the concept of security and how to address issues related to the fight against terrorism, intelligence or violent extremism. New applications emerged from existing technologies such as fMRI, in order to be able to "read" the thinking of people and detect deception with high accuracy. Throughout this article, the scientific backing that has the use of this technique has in detecting lies is analyzed, reviewing the results of the most relevant research has been carried out from 2001 to 2014. In these studies it is demonstrated, among other things, that the levels of precision of this technique are not much higher than traditional methods.
