New state-of-the-art civilian technologies offer us useful tools which, adapted to military environment, can provide solutions to necessities risen up at new missions carried out by our service men, offering several advantages not able until nowadays.
This study aims to show the reader the benefits that newcomers 4G networks can provide to military tactical communications, because they are able to transmit and receive both voice and data using secure IP network protocols at distances over distances that were previously impossible without using Satellite communications systems. As well as its ability to integrate with the latter, showing some current examples of use on the ground.
