Energy future in Cuba.- Sonia Velázquez León

Cuba, due to its geographic location between North and South America, has a privileged geostrategic situation; the approach between the Island and its neighbour, United States, brings new hopes to Cuban people; even if they are still under the Castro regime and economically they are still far away from other Latin-American countries, today they have new opportunities in the energy field. Thanks to bioethanol produced with sugar cane, Cuba has the opportunity to become an economic power in this sector and, therefore, become an energy bridge between both sides of the American continent.
