"Brexit", fiction or reality : impact on EU-CSDP.- Fernando Montoya Cerio

Practically since the beginning of their membership of the EU, the United Kingdom (UK) is threatening with a potential Brexit, which so far has not been completed. Departure from this organisation would have direct effect on both sides, particularly of an economic and social nature, and would cause collateral damage difficult to predict at this stage.

Because NATO remains the pillar of their national security, the United Kingdom efforts are directed towards this organisation. The Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) plays a secondary role for them, and in any case it is something complementary. This makes that the UK contributions to the CSDP are not at the height of its importance as a country both at European and international level.
