Robotics and resilience.- Carlos Calvo González-Regueral

We are living a sort of unmanned revolution. Although unmanned aerial systems are not present in our daily life yet, they have a high disruptive potential for different uses. These systems often produce incidents that require attention from several points of view. Specifically, security and safety, respect of privacy and in general their legal use in relation with the social environment are some areas of concern.

Drones are essential tools for current military operations. Traditionally, the use of new weapons in conflict has required an analysis on the moral, legal and strategic aspects of their employment.

The main problem is related to the use of armed drones in conflict. This specific issue presents different questions on the development of new technologies, respect to armed conflict law, and last but not least, social aspects.
