Containment strategy: United States and China.- Pablo Andrés Gutiérrez.

The current geopolitical situation in the world path towards a multipolar power distribution cannot be understood without looking the relationship between China and the United States. During the Cold War, Washington used Beijing as part of its strategy of containment against the USSR, while it was cautious in promoting the growth of the Asian giant. With the fall of the USSR this strategic alliance relationship was left without its common denominator. This has caused that over the years this relationship has become geopolitical competition that has reached its greatest tensions during the Trump’s Administration.
