Two years after the beginning of the Tuareg revolt, Mali still faces enormous challenges to ensure stability and to consolidate, even in the long term, the refounding of the State. While in the North Jihadist terrorism and organized crime are still present, the Bamako government has initiated a deep reform process, but it is still conditioned by the complicated national reconciliation. In this scenario, the construction of the Mali Defense becomes a key factor for achieving progress in all areas, and the European Union support, through the Mali-EUTM mission, is proving crucial in order to get it.
