La amenaza yihadista en Marruecos tras las primaveras árabes (DIEEEA59-2016)

Several years after the first departure of Moroccan jihadist to scenarios such as Syria, Libya or Iraq, Morocco is facing a real terrorist threat on its soil, something that seemed highly unlikely after the successful measures taken by the authorities of the kingdom in the aftermath of the Casablanca bombings in 2003. However, this threat is nowadays assumed as realistic by many analysts though that does not mean that this possibility has necessarily to materialize. Although Morocco lacks the financial and logistical resources of its European counterparts, Morocco has succeeded in recent years to remain immune to terrorist attacks. This document is therefore focused on studying the contemporary Moroccan jihadist movements seeking to identify the key of success for the Moroccan authorities in their fight against a phenomenon, jihadist terrorism, that so virulently has recently been hitting other countries on both shores of the Mediterranean basin.
