Organized crime and maras (DIEEEA04-2017)

The article describes the growing relationship that is occurring among organized crime, drug carriers and gangs; the drug route and the behaviour of criminal groups. Drug trafficking and gangs appear to be responsible for the high number of deaths occurred in these countries, marked by violence, institutional weakness and the proliferation of  firearms as insecurity increases, a fact that feeds the high rates of criminal violence.
