Military conflict and terrorist acts in Yemen (DIEEEINV07-2015)

In the last few months Yemen has come into a new and highly unstable phase. This country, the poorest country of Arabian Peninsula, is facing a major violence challenge ever since the radical shii group expansion along the country, the Saudi Arabia International Coalition operation against Huthies and the jihadist groups have risen. Pushed by internal conflicts, armed groups and political factions collision’s, Yemen is on thebrink of a sectarian war that would benefit AQAP, (AlQaeda branch in Arabian Peninsula) and the recently emerged Islamic State in Yemen. This paper analyses the main Yemeni armed groups focusing on the ability of destabilization that these organizations have both at national and international level.
