The U.S. strategic transition (DIEEEO38-2013)

After a long war on terror and two costly military campaigns, and in a context of a strategic transition, the global American decline, the rise of new regional powers and the economic turndown, the United States is changing both its grand strategy and its security and defence policies as a means to maintain its political hegemony and prepare itself for the future conflicts. This essay analyses the actions that Washington is carrying out.
