Failed states and the European Union: How Europe should contribute to the stabilization of the Central African Republic? (DIEEEO17-2014)

The European Union´s decision to act on the crisis in the Central African Republic, should favor the development of the Common Security and Defence Policy through the creation of civilian-military hybrid operations, that can provide a global response to international crises, specially in cases of failed States. Furthermore, we consider the need to update the European Security Strategy and to adopt a Defense White Paper for EU, are essential guidelines for action in these areas. This should put the EU as a valid player in matters of international peace and security and in support of United Nations.
