The European Union and the darker side of the Arab Spring (Libya and Syria) (DIEEEO30-2014)

The Lisbon Treaty (2007) provided the European Union a Common Security and Defence Policy in order to, among other things, try to reinforce its role as an actor in the international order. This article tends to analyse the current EU security and defence capabilities in the light of the measures applied to those crisis, as well as evaluate its implication and the results obtained.
