Asymmetric Warfare (DIEEEO55-2014)

Clausewitz describes the war as a “true chameleon”. He points out three constitutive elements: the intrinsical violence of its components, the creativity of the strategists and the rationality of the political decision-makers. An asymmetrical conflict refers to the confrontation between dissimilar forces that use certain factors or methods to change the scenario and therefore get some advantage.
Among the proposals to face the asymmetrical warfare, several principles are cited: maximize the use of technology, tactical flexibility, consideration of the human factor and win the popular support. Is mentioned as well the need of transformation of the military forces, with a more flexible intelligence and a deep reform in doctrines, training and organization.
