The Russian Operational Art: from Tukhachevsky (DIEEEO35-2018)

This document studies the origin of operational art and analyzes its evolution and development, from its creation by an elite of prominent Russian military thinkers during the twenties and thirties of the twentieth century, going through the influence of the emergence of nuclear weapons, up to the current mode of operation exhibited by the Russian Armed Forces in recent conflicts that have taken place in Crimea, eastern Ukraine and Syria, which international analysts and experts have called "Gerasimov doctrine”.
