Europe: A historical reality (DIEEEM14-2015)

Europe is undoubtedly a historical reality, whose name is 25 centuries old, centuries lived intensely, sometimes dramatic, with huge paradoxes that occasionally blurs their identity, and above all, with major fractures in a vision that seems to be considered as unitary.
That Europe is one and multiple, unitary and diverse, always open and under construction, is very ancient and future, it remains a project to be undertaken with a long history and culture. A reality that transcends geography, variable with epochs, as it is developed throughout the document.
Thus, although we perceive it as a single and compact reality, it has large fractures into its bone marrow. The narrative is a one of dichotomies, is the result of a number of divisions that emerged along two axes, the North-South and the East-West, along with hundreds of years and which incidentally have been happening in five centuries: VII, XI, XVI, XX.
