China in Africa through energy. A presence with global geopolitical implications (DIEEEM30-2015)

China has experienced a great demographic and economic growth in recent decades, which demands a high availability of energy resources. As its resources are insufficient, China has returned his gaze to Africa in order to supply and guarantee its energy security. Its presence on this continent has altered the energy map and the international landscape, resulting considerable geopolitical implications.
Commercial energy relations with others countries have shown, over time, such a geopolitical background that the search for new energy supplies sometimes has exceeded the end condition to become a means.
China has made Africa a valuable geopolitical instrument to strengthen its presence in the international arena, and today its energy policy is an instrument at the service of its foreign policy.
