The Nigerian middle belt (DIEEEA41-2017)

Nigeria, the first sub-Saharan economy, has a significant relevance for both Europe and Spain. But Nigeria is also an amalgam of armed conflicts arising from social conflicts that effectively dissolve the possibility of attracting foreign investment. Not surprisingly, Nigeria is probably one of the countries with the greatest number of internal armed conflicts in the world. Throughout this document, which reflects one more of the analysis carried out as part of the research project on Nigeria that is being carried out throughout 2017 in the Spanish Institute for Strategic Studies (IEEE), the results obtained in the study of the armed conflicts that hit the Nigerian middle belt are presented.
