The Sahel, threats of the new border (DIEEEO15-2017)

For some time the Sahel has become the so-called new southern border of Europe. The weakness of the states of the area and economic underdevelopment are some of the key factors behind the emergence and settlement of radical Jihadi organizations. These are intertwined with networks of organized crime in complex relationships that make this area of ​​Africa one of the most unstable in the world. The article aims to analyze briefly the main factors that have influenced and still influence that this area of ​​Africa remains one of the main sources of threats to the security of Spain and Europe.
